Malaysian internet scene: Updates and old news

I haven’t been blogging here for ages. Have been racing a new web app I’ve been working on. Check out the details on http://blog.bunchout.com
I’ll be webwatching again real soon. Meantime, this is all I have for ya.
The last I heard
- Tumpang (I covered them here and here) is launched internationally.
- Malaysia-based blog advertising network NuffNang was bashed on TechCrunch
But that’s like, really old news. Just thought I’d whack that up anyway.
Since I’m on the topic of old news…
Huzit.com is a Malaysia based wiki with sharper marketing and front end. Not winning any design awards of course but it’s sold to the user in an interesting way. Check out a Huzit page of local popstar Saerze.
Drop me an email if you come across anything I should blog about.

I will have to defend Nuffnang there.
First of all, Nuffnang has notified the bloggers about this on their Nuffnang blogs both for Malaysia and Singapore on October 7th and October 15th respectively. They also emailed all the bloggers on this issue. Now, when was the Techcrunch’s article published? November 3rd. You have to suspect how accurate is Techcrunch’s article here.
Announcement were given earlier while Techcruch said there was no announcement made. After reading this article, i start to question of Techcrunch credibility on reporting Web 2.0 news. More importantly, we can learn how a few users’ ignorance can really tarnish the PR and reputation of a company.
I see a great future for Nuffnang. All the best to them.
good comment dude. agree with many points.
